Tough Boy Casing Scrapers

Tough Boy™ casing scrapers are designed to provide 100% coverage of the inner wall of casing and liners. The 45-degree left and right hand blade design is contoured to accurately conform to the ID of the casing. This casing scraper tool is very effective in the removal of mud cake, cement sheath, scale, shot burrs and other roughness on the casing wall. The Tough Boy scraper is recommended for use in all drilling applications as well as clean-up during tubing completion operations. The scraper body is manufactured from heat-treated, low-alloy carbon steel to provide the best wear resistance and durability in the industry. The blades are manufactured from AISI 8620 material and case carburized to resist abrasive wear and provide long life. The design delivers reliability, minimum up keep and easy on-site maintenance.

Operation

Bilco recommends that the Tough Boy scraper be run immediately above the waste retriever on final drilling and completion operations. If there is anticipated drilling of landing collars, float collars, bridge plugs, cement retainers or drillable packers then the appropriate milling tool should be added to create the proper bottom-hole assembly. For tubing completion operations, it is recommended that a full-body casing scraper be spaced to reach the bottom of all casings and liners. Tough Boy brush tool can be spaced above the scraper to further scour and prepare casing ID's for fluid exchange and production equipment. The Tough Boy scraper design is available from 4 1/2-in tubing to 20-in casing.

Note: Standard scrapers are manufactured to run pin up. This design allows bit or mill to be made up on bottom and orients cutting edge of blades down hole.
