Traditional power tong systems create misalignment during connection make-up and break-out. This produces "Side Loading" at the threaded connection. "Side Loading" can result in thread galling and false torque readings. False torque readings increase the probability of an under-torqued connection and therefore the possibility of "Connection Failure."

The "Neutrally Balanced Tong" ("NBT"), Bilco's newest tong, is designed to eliminate these connection make-up problems.

This unique new tong design "Neutralizes" and "Balances" the negative effects of side loading on threaded connections and in doing so, achieves "True Torque."

The "NBT" is a "Mechanically Correct" tong design. More accurate torques, improved computer make-up graphs, and reduced occurrences of thread galling are the direct results of "Neutralizing" and "Balancing" tong side loading by the "NBT" system.
