"Deepwater Dual Tools" are designed for handling large diameter (5 1/2" - 5 1/2") dual production tubulars.
Designed on 8 1/2" centers instead of the standard 6" dual tool centers, the "Deepwater Dual Spider" also features hydraulically retracting slip bowls. When the spider is in the open position, the dual tubing is hydraulically split, allowing the necessary room to accommodate the larger (4 1/2" - 5 1/2") power tongs. Connection makeup is accomplished on the rig floor. The spider’s split position also facilitates the running of large diameter control line clamps.
The dual system is completed with Bilco’s patented "In-Line" Elevator, which is also designed on a 8 1/2" center.
